WHY WOULD YOU CHOOSE ME ?

I have 30 years of clinical experience with non-profit organizations and private practice. Since working at Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Psychiatry for several years, I have been in full-time private practice for the last 15 years. I am a faculty member at The Bowen Center (http://www.thebowencenter.org/pages/biolrb.html) where I supervise and teach in the Postgraduate Training Program. I regularly present at conferences and participate in the Theory Meeting and on the Research Committee at the Center.

In 1980, I graduated from the University of Iowa School of Social Work. Subsequently, I participated in several years of postgraduate training programs at the Menninger Foundation in Kansas and the Georgetown Family Center (now known as The Bowen Center for the Study of the Family) in Washington, DC. Both nationally renowned programs teach family theory and psychotherapy.

In addition, I am conducting a longitudinal research study of eight adoptive families. These long-term case studies explore the child as part of a broader family unit that influences and is influenced by relationship process.

For those interested in learning Bowen Theory, I now offer a seminar that includes didactic presentations as well as an opportunity to present your efforts to apply the theory to your family and life.
